Known to be one of the most picturesque beaches in Goa, Palolem is located in the southern part of the state and is very attractive to all foreign tourists. It is surrounded by tall palm trees that give this beach a very tropical feel, and the thatched shacks that serve food and drink are very tourist-friendly providing various options for snacks and beverages. The waters are calm and safe for swimming, which makes it perfect for families with kids.
A really rocky and small beach, Anjuna provides a stunning sunset and is popular with foreign tourists coming to Goa. Over the years Anjuna has created a big name amongst backpackers from abroad, giving it a hippie-esque charm. Also, Anjuna has various bars and restaurants that attract the international population here. The famous flea market is also set at the Anjuna Beach, mostly on top of the cliff as during high tide the beach tends to get completely submerged.
Located in Arambol, beyond the beach, is a small, quiet little strip of sand that is nested away and separated by rocks with tall palm trees. It only has a few shacks and is mostly visited by tourists who are in Goa for a lengthy period of time. On one side of the beach, the Terekhol River meets the sea which is a beautiful sight in itself.
Probably the most popular amongst foreign tourists, Ozran, also sometimes referred to as Little Vagator, is a great beach to chill out during the day and party at night. With a number of shacks serving up good food and drinks, and various local hawkers selling trinkets and jewelry, Ozran beach is a fun place to hang out at. The famous greek restaurant Thalassa sits atop one of the cliffs overlooking this beach.
This is a beach that serves as a nesting ground for Olive Ridley Sea Turtles and is not commercialized due to this very reason. It is great to spend peaceful evenings here and this quietness and serenity attract a major amount of foreign tourists, mostly Europeans. There are a few shacks and restaurants on a part of Morjim Beach, but a majority of it is safeguarded for turtles. You might come across these little creatures but are not allowed to disturb or feed them.
This is the ideal vacay mode beach, with quiet stretches, quality shacks, and white sand. It is a charming destination for sun and sand lovers, but if you are not into that there are plenty of options for water sports, dolphin watching, and good seafood. These amazing qualities attract a great number of foreign tourists to Benaulim. You could also visit various shops set back from the beach, selling local handicrafts, jewelry and mementos.
Located between Morjim and Mandrem beach, this is a popular spot for international travelers. This beach too is pretty quiet but has so many palm trees and a long white stretch of sand that it seems picture perfect. Also, it has minimal shacks, keeping it simple and serene.
A small white sandy beach that remains quaint even during the high season, Mandrem is one of the most beautiful beaches in this state. Located in the extreme north end of Goa, Mandrem is a favorite amongst foreign tourists due to its cleanliness, and good shacks serving up and international fare. It is also home to a number of Casuarina trees which give it a distinct charm. Another unique factor about this beach is that to get to it, one has to cross little wooden bridges as the beach has a stream running through it.
A stunner, Majorda Beach is Goa’s prettiest beach. A small number of shacks are located on this beach that serves all sorts of international and local cuisines. The pure white sands, long stretch of water, and gorgeous view are all features that attract tourists from all over the world to this beach. It also is a beach for various high-end resort hotels, which are located a little inland from the main shore.
A lovely beach that embodies the perfect essence of Goan partying is Calangute beach. Covered with various shacks, that serve up lovely exotic food, this is the place to be if you are in the fun zone, and would like to explore the wild side in you. Through the day, there are several umbrellas that fill up this beach and shacks serve food and drinks directly to the sunbeds. You could also go jet skiing, parasailing, or try any other water sports, and there are plenty offered on this fun beach. It's exciting and chaotic charm attracts a number of local and foreign tourists.
