And today we shall be sharing with you all the best locations to shop in Sri Lanka. No trip can be done and dusted without some shopping therapy and you can’t just shop anywhere only to end up disappointed. So, we have chalked out a list of the best places to shop in Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka is nothing less than a delight. The culture, the ambiance and the heritage form the soul of the gorgeous island country. Shopping here is a treat as well and let’s be realistic, everybody has a different budget so we have kept that mind while making this list.
A cute little beautiful shop located in the hills of Nuwara Eliya and run by nuns. If you have a sweet tooth then you need to come here to check out the wide array of jams they make, all from locally produced materials strawberries grown in the kitchen garden. Other things sold here include pickles, chutneys and a unique collection of wines. Some of the flavors of wines are- ginger, beetroot, strawberry, etc.

Right next to the Cinnamon Garden hotel in Colombo, we have this mall. It is a good spot if you want to look for local brands. The mall houses shops selling a wide range of items including teas, clothes, shoes, souvenirs, and linens. The presence of local brands makes it a pocket-friendly experience. You could even sit for a bit and enjoy a meal at one of the eateries as a break from your shopping spree. This is not a traditional floating market unlike its name but definitely a nice shopping spot built on wooden bridges by a lake. The setup looks absolutely amazing. This shop was opened back in 1994 and today forms the flagship store of this brand. It is housed in an old mansion and sells local crockery, homeware, antiques, handicrafts, giftware, and souvenirs. A famous pick of the place is their hand-painted black and white plates.

This is a street market that is very popular with the locals and comes alive every Saturday at the Colombo Racecourse. You will find 70 to 90 pre-approved vendors here selling fresh fruits, vegetables, natural food and snacks, fashion items, housewares, toys, and garden equipment. The place also provides massage and spa services. A lot of street-side live music will be ongoing and some onsite games can also be found.

Colombo is a busy place with lots of shopping malls. Liberty Mall is yet another shopping mall located in Colombo packed with apparel shops, food halls, souvenir stores, and a supermarket too. This is a huge hit among locals and tourists as well. Housed within a pretty colonial building, Odel has products from its own brand as well as from other global brands. The indoor is stocked with plenty of shops selling clothes, shoes, perfumes, accessories, books, souvenirs, etc. There are brands like Nike, Adidas, Mango, and others along with some local brands too.
