1) Cellular Jail, also known as Kala Pani was a prison used to keep Political Prisoners, due to its isolation from the rest of the Indian sub-continent. This complex was built in the late 1800s and had beautiful architectural value.
2) Ross Island has been renamed as Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Island and is a lovely little place to spend half a day exploring its historical significance. Old run-down buildings from the colonial era add to the beauty and eeriness of the island. Ferries run only between 7 am to 3 pm.
It is one of the few islands that allow and encourage tourism promoting various activities such as diving, sunbathing, snorkeling, and exploration of its vast jungles. There are a few places to experience good seafood, such as cafe saltwater on beach number 5 & red snapper restaurants on beach number 5.
Other places to explore on this island include elephant beach, Kala Patthar beach, and the famous Havelock Lighthouse. You can get to this island using ferry services from Port Blair.
It is secluded and in its natural form & has several glorious beaches, making it one of the best honeymoon destinations in the whole group of islands. It is peaceful, and people who enjoy nature in its raw form will find paradise-like. Other things that couples can do on this island include basking in the sun on Sitapur beach, water-related activities, and boat ride to explore reefs and marine life.
