City Trips and Tours
Europe
The Bucharest City Break begins on Friday afternoon, with a panoramic tour that carefully covers the most important tourist attractions. After a 2-3 hour trip occasioning both a photo session and an orientation tour, there follows a quiet evening in a relaxing venue or, for those who like partying, a an exciting night in one Bucharest’s coolest clubs. Indeed, having a “free” program can be the best way to take the pulse of a city
You certainly know the proverb with the early bird … Well, If you’ll join our group in the early hours, you’re in for an interesting Saturday, with lots of surprises! A thorough tour of the Palace of Parliament (that Romanians call The House of the People) is followed by a visit to the Village Museum, a good chance to catch the contrasting shades of a society equally represented by modernity and tradition. For lunch we have chosen the most popular pub & restaurant in the city: Caru’ cu Bere (The Beer Cart) where you’ll enjoy the savory tastes of Romanian traditional cuisine. In the afternoon we’ll take a stroll through the charming historical center * (the old town) and pause for a well-deserved coffee break in Bucharest’s famous age-old inn: Hanul lui Manuc (Manuc’s Inn) whose poetic atmosphere will take you back two hundred years.
For a bird’s eye view on the city, on Sunday morning we‘ll go exploring the Presidency headquarters; Cotroceni Palace* is a former royal palace and a historical monument representative for a thriving era. Before heading to the airport and taking off with lots of pleasant memories, photos and memorabilia, we have scheduled a tasting of traditional goodies in the warm, inviting setting of the Brewers Inn’s. Don’t miss it!
