Bhutan
Upon your arrival, drive to the capital city Thimphu. Enjoy the scenic beauty of the mountains and rivers along the way. After arriving at the hotel, you can spend your day relaxing or visit the places - Kuenselphodrang and Memorial Chorten. The Kuenselphodrang or the Buddha Point has the world's largest sitting Buddha statue situated atop a hill. A 15-minute drive to the statue offers an exceptional view of the Thimphu city. The Memorial Chorten in Thimphu is a stupa built in the honor of Jigme Dorji Wangchuck, the king of Bhutan. Stay overnight at the hotel in Thimphu.
Visit the wildlife reserve area for Takin, the national animal of Bhutan. Also, enjoy visiting other famous attractions of Bhutan-the National Library of Bhutan, the National Textile Museum, Folk Heritage Museum, the Royal Botanical Garden and Wangchuck Centennial National Park. Pay a visit to Tashichho Dzong, a Buddhist monastery and fortress in Bhutan. Head back to the hotel and spend the night there.
After breakfast at the hotel, head out on a journey to Punakha, a small town located around 80 km (3.5 hours approximately) away from Thimphu. Stop at the Dochula Pass en route to Punakha. Later, proceed to Chimi Lhakhang, the temple of fertility and visit Punakha Dzong. After reaching Punakha, check in and stay overnight at the hotel.
Post breakfast at the hotel; take a 3-hour long drive to the serene valley of Phobjikha. The valley is host to the endangered Black-necked Cranes. Visit the Crane Information Centre for more information about the black-necked cranes. Also, at Phobjikha, visit the beautiful 17th-century Gangtey Monastery. Take an hour-long walk in the Gangtey Natural Trail and marvel at the spectacular views of the valley. Later, drive back to the hotel in Punakha and stay overnight there.
En route to Paro, if time permits, visit the Tamchog Lhakhang temple. One must cross an iron chain bridge to get to the temple, which is an amazing experience in itself. Upon your arrival in Paro, head to the hotel and relax for some time before visiting some famous attractions in Paro. Visit Rinpung Dzong, a Buddhist monastery and fortress and Ta Dzong, the national museum of Bhutan. Head back to the hotel to stay overnight.
Enjoy a delicious breakfast at the hotel and then drive to the Taktsang monastery. You can take a walk of about 2 hours to reach the top of the monastery, which is situated on a steep rock. Enjoy a good view of the monastery from a tea point en route, where you can also have lunch. While your return journey to Paro, visit Kyichu Lhakhang, a prominent Himalayan Buddhist temple. Later, take a joy walk around the Paro town and return to the hotel for an overnight stay.
Check out from the hotel and transfer to Paro Airport. Leave Bhutan with a lot of wonderful memories.
