But as busy as Tokyo is at giving birth to new ideas, cultures and inventions, it\'s just as fastidious about preserving tradition, carefully maintaining historical gardens, shrines and temples. Today, provided you arrive by noon, you could visit Shinkuju Gyoen, Koishikawa Korakuen Garden, Chidorigafuchi and Meguro River in Nakameguro. Just spend the day roaming around the beautiful gardens. Today after breakfast, proceed to the train station and head towards Hakone. Hakone, in Japan\'s Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park west of Tokyo, is a mountainous town known for its hot springs resorts (Onsen) and views of the iconic volcano Mount Fuji. Upon arrival, hop on a boat across Ashinoko Lake and then tride the Hakone ropeway cable car to the top of the surrounding mountains. The area around the Lake offers plenty of stunning views and you may even catch a glimpse of Mt Fuji in the distance if weather conditions are clear. Further explore Hakones spectacular mountain scenery and volcanic sites. Perhaps visit the boiling sulphur springs of Owakudani or Hakone Jinja Shrine with its red torii gate rising from the shore of Ashinoko Lake. Later, you shall return to Tokyo. Overnight in Tokyo.
Today after breakfast, you are heading towards Takayama by Train. Takayama is a charming Edo period town located in the Japanese alps, famous for its traditional inns, sake breweries and the Hida Folk Village. Upon arrival, make your way to Hida Folk Village (Hida No Sato). Take a 30 minute walk to the Village. The village itself is a museum that showcases over 30 old traditional houses (built in the Edo period) from the Hida region. Explore all the wooden structures and other notable treasures you find there one by one. Walk along the old town of Takayama. Experience a unique rickshaw ride in this well preserved historic town. Roam around the area and get to Takayama Jinya by crossing the iconic Nakabashi Bridge. Overnight in Takayama.
Today after breakfast, you are off to two magnificent destinations - Shirakawago and Kanazawa. Spend half a day in Shirakawago and rest of the time in Kanazawa. Shirakawago is a beautiful traditional Japanese old village, home to dozens gassho-zukuri farmshoues and nestled at the foot of Mount Hakusan in northwestern Gifu Prefecture; one of the most important highlights in central Japan. Later visit some famous places in Kanazawa such as Kenrokuen Garden and Kanazawa Castle Park. Kenrokuen is one of Japans three most beautiful landscape gardens, where incredible seasonal changes can be enjoyed just by taking a stroll along its picturesque garden trails. Overnight in Kanazawa.
Today after breakfast, travel by bullet train to Kyoto. With its many cultural landmarks and historical sites and the abundance of traditional arts and literature, Kyoto is regarded as the cultural heart of Japan. Kyoto was the capital of Japan for over 1,000 years (the name means \'Capital City\') but the emperor and government are now located in Tokyo. With over 2,000 temples, shrines and gardens, Kyoto is a great place to get lost in. Overnight in Kyoto.
Today after breakfast, you will spend half a day in Nara and spend rest of the time in Kyoto. Visit a famous place known as Nara Park. It consists of freely roaming sacred deer, many historical buildings such as Buddhist temples, gardens, and shrine including Nara National Museum. Feed the deer and be there companion for a while. Dont forget to get a picture of the Todaiji Temple Building. It is impossible to think of a trip to Kyoto without a visit to Kinkakuji (Golden Pavilion), Fushimi Inari Shrine, and Kiyomizudera Temple. Today after breakfast, travel back to Tokyo by a Bullet Train. People who travel to Tokyo dont come there just to explore the citys best touristic spots instead they are on the hunt for the best shopping streets and restaurants. For a great shopping experience in the capital city, head to Shibuya and Shinjuku areas. There you would find so many good restaurants to satisfy your stomach. Apart from being one of the best modern cities in the World, Tokyo is filled with many \'it happened here\' historic sites. Visit the historic landmarks such as the Imperial Palace, Edo Castle, Senso-ji, Tokyo National Museum and Meiji Shrine. Overnight in Tokyo.
Today after breakfast, begin your tour of the worlds largest metropolis at the museum which best shows Tokyos history, \'The Edo Tokyo Museum\'. The Museum exhibits life size replicas as well as miniature models of structures during the Edo period in Japan. Next, ascend 350 meters up to the observation deck of Tokyo Skytree, where a panoramic cityscape over Tokyo\'s magnificent skyline awaits your view. On especially clear days visitors can see all the way to Mount Fuji! Then travel to Asakusa Kannon Temple, in Tokyos Asakusa district.
