Our journey begins with a short trip over the Harbour Bridge to the North Shore before returning to the central city to visit Queen St and the Auckland Viaduct.

We continue on through the Auckland Domain, the city’s oldest park, situated on a 62,000 year old volcano to Parnell Village for our morning tea stop. The historic buildings of Parnell have been transformed in to a trendy shopping area featuring many boutiques, antique, craft and specialty shops.

Following this brief stop our tour will then take you along the scenic waterfront route of Tamaki Drive to the Michael Joseph Savage Memorial Park, in Mission Bay. A memorial to the first Labour Prime Minister of New Zealand and the founder of the welfare state. Michael Joseph Savage Memorial Park has panoramic views over Whenua Rangatira, Auckland city and Waitemata Harbour. This park is a popular wedding and tourist venue, with formal gardens and perfect venue for flying a fabulous array of colourful and creative kites. The tour then returns to downtown.

Breakfast at hotel and checkout.

Today depart for Rotorua via Waitomo.

Includes: Waitomo Glowworm Caves Guided Tour.

More than 30 million years ago, the legend of Waitomo began with the creation of limestone at the bottom of the ocean. Now these limestone formations stand as one of New Zealand’s most inspiring natural wonders and a must-see destination.

Your guided tour will take you through over 250 metres of stunning underground scenery commencing with the impressive Cathedral. Your tour begins at the upper entrance of the cave and proceeds along a low narrow passage to the Tomo, a deep limestone shaft. Other magnificent cave formations include the Banquet Chamber, the Pipe Organ and the Catacombs.

The highlight of your tour is an unrivalled boat trip through the spectacular Glowworm Grotto. As your eyes adjust to the dark, the walls and roof sparkle with the lights of glowworm larvae. Glide silently through the starry wonderland of the glowworm grotto, your way lit by a myriad of tiny glowworm lights glittering, and reflecting off the water.

Your experienced tour guide will deliver a highly informative commentary about the formations and the history of the area. The cave is easily accessible to those with reasonable mobility, with good handrails and paths.

Te Ra [Day Pass] – Guided Tour 60 minutes.

Te Puia is the premier Maori cultural centre in New Zealand – a place of gushing waters, steaming vents, boiling mud pools and spectacular geysers. Our Maori tradition lives on at Te Whakarewarewa, with our guided tours and attractions, our Maori culture, and our National Carving and Weaving Schools of New Zealand.

Te Heketanga a Rangi (heavenly origins) – Your tour begins at the main entrance, where twelve monumental carvings reach skywards, representing twelve celestial guardians. Discover stories of our ancestors’ arrival and settlement in Rotorua at our world class exhibition gallery at Te Puia.

Kiwi House- See our New Zealand flightless bird in a specially lit kiwi house with kiwi specialist guides at hand.
