How to Reach

  • By Road : The ideal way to visit the entire place in a minimum possible time is by taking a taxi on rent for a full day and visit all the places. Taking a shared auto and Bus option is also available. All museums are at a prominent place and well connected with main roads.
  • By Flight : Flight service is available for Port Blair. Chennai and Kolkata is the main connecting point for flights to and from Port Blair.

The main theme of this museum is tribes of Andaman and their life. If you are interested in knowing all about the native tribes of Andaman even dating centuries back this is the place to be. Here you will also be able to understand the history, people, and culture of the Andaman Islands. Information, stories, artifacts in large volumes are here for visitors viewing. 

 Forest Museum:- 

This museum displays the details of various flora of Andaman Island. Various native trees are also here for display. The museum has a wonderful collection of wooden furniture, bamboo crockery, wooden toys, and decorative items.

Samudrika Marine Museum:- 

Maintained by the Indian Navy, this museum mainly focuses on the tribe, their lifestyles, marine life, corals, shells, stones, and flora of fauna of the island. The major attractions of this place are the Jarawa chest guard and shamanic sculptures. This place is also had a small aquarium where various types of fishes are on display. 

National Memorial Museum:-

 A part of iconic cellular jail, this museum is dedicated to the history of cellular jail and its prisoners. Here you will feel the pain and agony of prisoners locked in the jail called KalaPani Punishment before independence. You will start feeling proud of being Indian more and you will also realize how hard the fight of independence was. 

Science Center:- 

Mainly famous of school children and science enthusiastic this place, offer various types of information with respect to science. Here you may also watch 3D light and sound show on Jurassic Park. Various scientific experiments are demonstrated here for enhancing scientific knowledge of the visitors.
