History-

To accomplish the far greater thing, let us swim into the divine pond to get the blessing of Thirumoorthy. The Ancient Hindu temple Taman Ayun of Bali situated in Mengwi village was built in the 17th century by the Gusti Agung Putuking of the Mengwi Empire is the best tourist place to visit I Bali.

Though this temple is built in the year 1634, In the year 1937, there was a major restoration gone inspiring Chinese architecture. It is one of the six royal temples; initially, the outsider was not allowed to visit the temple, now the locals and foreigners are allowed to visit. Taman Ayun temple means ‘Garden Temple in the Water.’

It is the worship place and recreation garden for the Mengwi Empire. Mengwi kings use temples praying for their prosperity. It is devoted to the Hindu god and noble spirits.

Why is it famous?

“Utama mandala” stone has a Meru containing the cascaded roof. A cascaded roof is a place for god during the ceremony. Eleven feet (3.35 m) roof dedicated to gods Shiva, Vishnu, Brahma the destroyer, preservers, and creator respectively; they are called as Thirumoorthy in Hinduism. Jaba is the outer part of the temple.

The guardhouse is where the temples ceremony and cockfights will take place. It has a lily pond, post sprinkling water, nine guardian god’s Pintu Gelung is opened only during the ceremony, and Dalem Bekak Temple, a small temple nearby.

How to Reach

  • By Air : You can port to Bali via Air from New Delhi 9.0 hrs., Mumbai 8.0 hrs., Bangalore 8.0 hrs., Chennai 8.0 hrs.
  • By Cab : From Bali, the Denpasar town can be reached in 1hr and 50 Minutes through the rented Cab. From there, it is 20 minutes to reach the temple.
  • By Motorcycle : If you stay closer to Denpasar, you can rent a motorcycle and can reach theirs easily in 20 mins.

Tanah Lot Temple Bali: It is the best tourist attraction located approximately 45 from Taman Ayun, the best place for sunset scenery. You can sit and relax with hot corns. The Tanah Lot, which is in the Paraben, is for sea guardian deity on top of the rock.

Holy Sea snake: In Baraben we have Tanah Lot Temple Bali in front of Tanah Lot Temple, this is flat-tailed snake worshipped by Bali’s in a belief that it will guard people against all evils.

Nasional Marga Rana Monument: Nasional Marga Rana Monument is built to commemorate warrior who died in the Dutch colonialism war. The war took place in the year 1946 in the memory of Balinese memory. This Monument is located in Tabanan.

The Alas Kedaton Monkey Forest: Forest is located in Tabanan with the natural habitat of monkeys. The monkeys in the park are cultivated; wander in the Alas Kedaton temple. In the park, you can also witness 24 spices o plants and other animals.

Bali Alas Kedaton Temple: Located in the Tabanan rice field, the temple is surrounded by the monkey forest. During the visit to the temple, you can witness animals like monkeys wandering around the temple corridor. This temple can be reached in 45 minutes from Kuta.

Ogoh-Ogoh: Museum form bamboo made statues located on the west of the temple; Badung regency statues are sculptured in the temple.

Taman Anyar: Village near Mengwi, the place is famous for trekking in the rice field and to enjoy the authentic village lunch of Balances.

Taman Ayun meaning Garden Temple in the water - It is one of the ancient temple also known as the royal family temple. Its interesting garden, stone work and artistic statues is going to leave you spell bound. One of the very peaceful temple of Bali. It is counted as one of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. While our time spent at this temple was short, it was a very inspiring visit. I particularly enjoyed the solemnity of the temple contrasted with the playful exuberance of the monkeys on the temple grounds.
