Taman Tirtagangga, Bali




Explore Bali’s water palace that is surrounded by pools and fountains and discover the royal history at Taman Tirtagangga. The grounds have an exquisitely impressive eleven-tiered fountain that is considered to be the center of attraction surrounding the sculpture gardens. This was a former palace dated back to 1940s that is now transformed into lavish water gardens and highlights the verdant scenery along the countryside. The park has an area of 1.2 hectares extending from east to west with three levels of the building. This complex looks like it has existed for centuries however it was built in 1946 by the royal Karangasem family. Travelers can’t take their eyes off from its shrubs, sculptures, flora & fauna, and magical fountains positioned on the octagonal stepping stones. You can also swim in one of the stone spring water.

Why it is famous?  

Taman Tirtagangga is famous for people who enjoy imaginative and beautiful landscapes where you can relax amidst the verdant scenery and plan a tour of the terraced countryside. There are many old temples and you can also see the fertile rice paddies. Tirta Gangga meaning water from the Ganges has always been a tourist destination and well-known for the 10-meter-high eleven -tiered fountain inside the complex covered with numerous ornate guardian statues and lotus ponds. There are springs under the banyan tree in one of the tallest building, this complex has a maze of pools and fountains that is covered by stone carvings, statues, and beautiful gardens. It is a nice picnic spot especially for kids to play around and for those who fancy and enjoy swimming in the pool.

How to Reach

  • By Road – : The convenient way to reach Tirta Gangga is to take the Perama shuttle, which operates from the Airport. It takes around 2 hours from the Ubud town and 2.5 hours from Canggu. You can rent a scooter that costs around IDR 50,000 per day. Or you can hire a personal driver for a day for 8 hours that will cost the same.
  • By Bus – : You can take public buses from Karangasem town and Perama to Tirta Gangga.

  • Entry fees : INR 120 for Locals per person. INR 200 for Foreigners per person.
  • Swimming : INR 50 for Locals per person. INR 100 for Foreigners per person.

Mount & Lake Batur – Mount Batur is also famously known amongst the people as Kintamani volcanoone of the best places for sightseeing with its dramatic landscape and magnificent view, located 13 square kilometer caldera offering a spectacular view to the visitors. Trek to this marvelous peak of Ulun Danu Batur, explore around the beautiful mountains, ride a bike, enjoy swimming in hot water springs, and soak yourself at Mount & Lake Batur under the beautiful sun. 

Water Palace – Ujung water palace is a beautiful piece of architecture surrounded by infinite water pools and you can see the iconic Mount Agung from the rooftop. The scenic beauty and the clear clouds make this place a worth visit.

Amed Beach – Amed beach is considered to be the best beaches of Bali for snorkeling and diving. It is an exciting opportunity for adventure enthusiasts to unveil the underwater trove beneath the turquoise blue waters of the beach. Enjoy the aquamarine life and seaside fishing, with several activities both under and over the water.

Meditation - The surroundings of this water palace are so calm and peaceful, that makes it a perfect place for meditation in the meditator area.

i always amazed with all the water palace in Karang Asem regency. this park is well-maintained. clean, tidy & beautiful. the fishes are amazing. beautiful colors in jumbo size. the are always hungry, when you feed them you also can touch them. fish food are available in the shops before the gate or in the park, they sell it in same price. very instagramable place.

Nice place for a evening. Great location to enjoy the time. You can feed those dishes in the pool. I really enjoyed it. There is a entrance fee for the ticket.

It's very busy but much cleaner than before - the gardens have matured. More public toilets and things to do. Really enjoyed this visit with my wife and friends.

very interesting tourist attractions and ticket prices are very affordable. Here there are a lot of very large goldfish and there are baths or ponds to clean themselves because the place is very special here. the person or the manager is very nice and friendly
