Overview

The Hampta Pass is one of the treks in the Himalayas. It is located at an altitude of 4260m between Kullu Valley in Himachal Pradesh and Chandra Valley in Lahore. Hampta Pass acquisition is very exciting, especially crossing the pass is a great adventure. The green Kullu valley here has beautiful vines, grasses, shrubs, flowers which have given the valley a wonderful scenic view.

 

There are forests along the path of this valley, pine trees, and many waterfalls to enjoy at. You will see there are many vertical rock walls & hanging glaciers. The beautiful rhododendron forest here will fascinate you the most.

How to Reach

  • by Cab : A cab can be booked until the base camp Jobra. After that, you can cover the remaining distance by trekking.
  • by Road : The Road to Hampta Pass basecamp is well-connected with major Indian cities such as Delhi, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Bangalore, and Chennai. Flights & train services provide access to Manali but certain parts of the town require you to travel on road. After entering Manali, you can easily travel get the cab or bus to Jobra, the basecamp of Hampta Pass trek.
  • by Train : The nearest railway station to Hampta Pass is Jogindernagar Railway Station. The distance between Joginder Nagar and Hamta Pass is 61.1 km. Cabs are available at Railway Station. They would take around 2 -2.5 hrs one way to reach Hampta Pass from Joginder Nagar

Small forest

When you get to Hampta Pass you will find forests on both sides of the road at the beginning of the valley. In this forest, you will see different types of trees like oak, maple, pine, birch, etc. You can also camp at night in this forest. The beauty of this forest will fascinate you.

Dramatic pass crossing

If you like Pass Crossing very much, you will love this place. Here you will experience a different kind of adventure. This valley is very narrow in shape. Below the valley is white snow. As you ascend to this valley, you will notice brown walls on both sides. Climb up and you will reach the top of the hill. This place is not less than a heaven.

Drive Jobra from Manali

Traveling from Manali to Jobra is one of the best mountain driving. On this trip, you will cross different forests such as oak forest, apple forest & cedar forest. When you go to Jobra, the temperature starts to drop, it gets colder and colder. It will give you an exciting travel experience.

Stunning campsite

There are wonderful campsites - Balu Ka Ghera and Seya Goru. Most trekkers love this Seya Guru campsite in Lahul. This campsite is surrounded by green pastures, very nice cold flowing air, mountains all around. A river flows through the middle which makes this place accurate for a suitable campsite.

If you are driving to Hampta you have to drive Jobri via Prini. It will be a two days trek to Hampta.
