Jurong Bird Park is Asia’s largest bird park with 3,500 birds across 400 species. Twenty percent of these 400 species are threatened. Its large and immersive walk-in aviaries such as Lory Loft and Waterfall Aviary are the main attractions in the park apart from unique exhibits like Penguin Coast and Pelican Cove.
The park pioneered in breeding the Malayan black hornbill (1995) and the twelve-wired bird of paradise (2001) in captivity, and the American Pheasant and Waterfowl Society conferred the Breeders’ Award. This the only park in the Asia Pacific to house an Avian Hospital. The park was founded in 1971.
