Standing upon the Europe's highest waterfall, you can feel the roar and vibration of water. Rhine Falls provide you an experience of lifetime.
Rhine Falls is known to be the largest plain waterfall in Europe.
The flow rate of the Rhine Falls is 23 meters with a breadth of 150 meters. The deepness of the tub is 13 meters and average torrential 600 meters per second.
They literally provide a stunning view of the Cascading falls.
Over 15,000 years ago, due to the tectonic shifts, Rhine river was forced into a new river bed. The Rhine Falls came into being at the transition point where hard chalk turned into soft gravel.
In the middle of it, stands a gigantic rock that has withstood the elements for over a thousand years. The rock can be reached by taking a circular tour of the mighty falls. Virtually in the middle of the waterfall, visitors stand on platforms that jut out and partially hover over the Rhine. The visitors can reach the castles of Wörth and Laufen by taking the river boat , and if you are adventurous enough you can even rent canoes.
As an addition to the new visitor's centre , a children's playground and the interactive exhibition about the Rhine Falls called the "Historama" have been opened.
Also the new adventure trail with its dual lift system and the Belvedere Trail make easy access to the magnificent Rhine Falls.
The Rhine Falls flow round the year and are impressive all year round.
However, in Summers, the flow is at highest and provides awe-struck view.
