If you go to Bangkok with your friend, you must force upon this road named Khao San road. Khao San Road is located in the middle of Bangkok and its length is not more than 410 meters. You will encounter many surprises while walking along this road.

Khao San Road was built by King Rama V in 1892. Khao San means Rice Mill. Many decades ago, this place used to be the rice market. That is why this place is called Khao San Road.

How to Reach

  • By Ferry : You can also take a water cruise if you want to feel the thrill. In waterways, you will be surprised at some of the most scenic views Bangkok has to offer.You will have to take BTS to Saphan Taksin then you can walk to Sathorn Pier and reach your destination.
  • By Cab : If you want to relax and enjoy your solitude, cabs are a good option.You can hire a taxi to Khao San Road.It costs 80 and 150 baht to reach there.
  • By Bus : From Suvarnabhumi Airport you can arrange a bus to go to Khao San road. A4 bus departs from airport to Khao San Road which takes 50 baht and takes 45 minutes approximately.

Khao San Road is a remarkably busy street you can find many massage parlors here. At night you get great views of the Chao Phraya River.

Brick Bar-

The late evening Khao san road comes alive. At the end of Khao San road, there is a Brick Bar, all the Bangkok popular with the local college crowds, Brick Bar is the last bastion of the local Thai bar in the heart of what turned into a Thai team playground for younger western backpackers on a budget that is losing any resemblance of anything that is truly local to Thailand.

It is also one of the only bigger local venues here in Bangkok that sell Johnny Walker and offers local whiskeys like saying stone and small bottles. This Bar is a knockoff of a western-style bar. You can hear it in the melodies of the Thai rock songs here and see it.

 

 

 

Places To Eat

If you love street food, this place is a paradise for you. You can find ice creams, fruits, and vegetables. Lucky Beer and Khao San Centre are one of the most popular joints. Coconut ice-cream is a good option for dessert.

One can find a lot of options to snack on Khao San road. Durian fruit is immensely popular here. In this area, some suited gentlemen prepared hotcakes and sell them. Although this place is known for its Thai style Vietnamese noodles their grass jelly dessert is also best and quite affordable.

If you go to this road, you must sit at a table for a while being a long way commuter can be a conversation with anyone at any moment. And if you go there, you will not step on any table, it shows very un-polite. There is no need to think that you have to wear more clothes, you can go for normal casual dresses.
