Overview

If you are an art lover, then this temple is the ideal vacation spot for you. It is an unfinished Hindu-Buddhist spiritual place and museum in Pattaya, Thailand. It is difficult to understand how skilfully and efficiently the temple has been built without visiting it once. This temple is made entirely of wood.

Mainly Mai Deang, Mai Takien, Mai Panchaat, and Teak are used to structure it and consist of wood carved embodiment and sculptures only. Construction began in 1981. Though the temple is not completed until now, visitors are allowed to visit here with a hard hat. The temple is constructed over 13 hectares area and spire top on 105m.

 

 

Why Is It Famous?

This temple is made up of a combination of all religions. On each surface, you will see well-defined different structures and symbols of every religion. Hindu, Buddhist, Chinese, Thai, and Khmer traditions are well decorated and ornamented in that temple. 

The salient feature of the temple is a four-faced Brahma idol on the top of the roof. Attempts have been made to portray the most of the temple as an ancient theory as well as deities and eastern culture, but in some places, the art of elephants, humans, or plants can also be seen.

How to Reach

  • By Bus : You can take a bus from Bangkok to Pattaya and then a taxi to Snctuary of Truth. Dolphin roundabout,is the place from where you will take the other which is 10 baht bus and get off to soi 12 on the Naklua Road.
  • By Train : Pattaya doesn’t offer you urban rail service to get the temple.Either go by bus or cab.
  • By Cab : From Bangkok Ekkamai stoppage you can get a cab that can help to reach Pattaya and from Pattaya, you could afford a cab that consumes around 30 minutes.When you reach Pattaya then hire a taxi to Sanctuary of Truth which is in Naklua Road.

Recommendations-Do's and Don’ts

  • Women have to cover their shoulders and legs before entering the temple but you need not worry there is a dress coat also that you can rent for 200 baht and get the money back when you return the dress.
  • You need to wear a hard hat before entering certain areas of the temple because till now construction of the temple is underway. 
  • Be aware of elephant and speed boat riding, goat feeding because they are unnecessarily charging so much money. 
  • Wear comfortable dresses and carrying water will make your journey more enjoyable.
