Ram Jhula

Deriving its name from one of the most revered gods in Hinduism, Ram Jhula is another famous suspension bridge besides Lakshman Jhula located near Rishikesh. Constructed in 1986, this bridge is a connecting link between one of the two important ashrams Shivananda ashram and Parmarth Niketan. As compared to Lakshman Jhula, this bridge is very more crowd and noisy as Motorbikes and Cycles are allowed on this bridge to cross. Despite, that it attracts tourist from all around the world.

Why it is famous: - This place is one of the best spots to enjoy the amazing view of River Ganga. As the name of Lord Ram is related to this place, it has some local religious sentiments attached. Earlier this bridge was called Shivananda Bridge. But as it is bigger than the size of Lakshman Jhula, people started calling Ram Jhula (As Ram is the elder brother of Lakshman). Walking around Ram Jhula enjoying the fresh air with so much stuff being sold nearby will stop your heart to leave this place.
