Going to Annapurna for trekking is safe if certain precautions are exercised properly. What takes the level of trekking in Annapurna to another are difficult roads, high altitude & unpredictable weather. Yet no one complains about the wilderness beauty of it. However, Injuries are common in trekking. The person going for trekking in Annapurna must exercise some precautions like seeing the trek then walking, carrying a water bottle, staying in a group while trekking etc.
All you will find in Annapurna are top peaks calling you with open arms to make a climb on it. Some must-visit tourist places in Annapurna are Annapurna Sanctuary, Tilicho Lake, Machhapuchhare and Hiunchuli.
Don't start your trek with a thought of climbing more than 400-500 metre in a day. Always carry atleast two water bottles with you on your trek. Drink water regular to keep your body hydrated. Take the advice from locals because they will guide you about the dangerous places you come across in trek where you need to more cautious.
A minimum of 19 to 21 days tour will be required by a traveler for exploration of Annapurna including places like Lamjung, Manang, Mustang & Myagdi.
Before applying for the permit to Annapurna Trekking, you must keep ready all the necessary documents such as Entry Permit Application Form, two clear copies of your passport - one for TIMS and the other one for ANCAP, 4 passport size photograph & complete itineraries detailing each day activity etc. Nepali currency is a must.
As our country comes under SAARC, the price that the Indian nationals have to pay for the permit to Annapurna Trekking is 200 NPR (126.17 in INR). The price of TIMS (Trekkers Information Management System) Card is 600 NPR (378.26 in INR).
